Roy was our Riverton yacht club Commodore in 2010. Six years later I was Commodore and Roy was such a great encouragement to me. Every time he saw me he would salute and say, “ Commodore you’re doing a great job”. That meant a lot to me.
In 2016, Roy invited me to join the Dirty Dozen Lunch Gang. I joined and told Roy that the name of our group sounded a little nefarious. So, we came up with another alternative: the ROMEOS = Retired Old Men Eating Out !!! Roy selected our next location each week and we had many great lunches at some very nice places and also some seedy places in questionable neighborhoods, but two things always happened : Great stories by Roy and great food.
Roy really enjoyed his sailboat and his “Nerissa” was one of the best looking sailboat I’ve ever seen. Roy looks so happy at the helm with that big Roy smile.
Sometimes Roy would miss an event at the yacht club, because he was off on another adventure with Suzanne. He certainly lived life to the fullest. God bless you and rest in peace, my friend. 🙏🏼
