Henry A. DiStefano

Henry A. DiStefano passed away peacefully on April 30, 2015 surrounded by his family. Born in Philadelphia, Hank was 89 years old. Beloved husband of the late Theresa (nee Oriold) DiStefano. Loving father of Danette (Glenn) Biggs, Diane Kravitz (Wayne Price) and the late David A. DiStefano. Devoted grandfather of Jason Kravitz, Jacqueline Kravitz and Elizabeth Biggs. Great grandfather of Antonio Kravitz. Brother of Wayne and Robert DiStefano. Henry was born in Philadelphia, on October 17,1925. He was the oldest son of Henry, Sr. and Constance DiStefano. He grew up on Cheltenham Avenue with his two brothers Wayne, and Robert . After High School, he proudly served his country in the US Navy. While serving, he was deployed on the destroyer, USS Pillsbury. The Pillsbury, a major player in the WWII theater, assisted the Chatelaine in the capture of the U-boat 505, which carried the first German decoder to be captured, and that event was a major turning point in the war. Following his service in the Navy, Henry worked for several years at Sears Roebuck on the Roosevelt Boulevard. He began his own electric motor repair business, with partners, Rocci Schuima, and Joe Lamelza, called Trio Electric which operated for many years at 5th and Erie Avenue until his retirement. Two of Henry’s favorite activities were fishing and golf, and he was a long time member at the Medford Lakes Country Club. Henry was also a lover of animals with a particular fondness for owls. He was a kindhearted gentle soul, who was loved by all who knew him. Henry had a great love for his family, and was especially adored by his children, grandchildren, and many nieces, and nephews. He was one of a kind, irreplaceable, and will be missed beyond what words can express. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Henry's Life Celebration and viewing Thursday Eve 7-9 p.m. and Friday 9-10 a.m. at Snover/Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North. His Funeral Mass will follow 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Interment, with Military Honors, will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
