Beloved husband of 60 years to Kay Marie Pfeiffer (nee Webb). Loving father of Patricia Pfeiffer, David (Anina) Pfeiffer, and Ann (Jeff) Vaughan. Adored Pop Pop of Elle, Gillian, Paige, Brooke, Brian, TJ and Scott. Brother of the late Bob (late Catherine) Pfeiffer and Lorraine (late) Bushnell. Son-in-law of the late Newton Webb and the Flora Mae Webb. Francis leaves behind many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He also was VP of Research at Drug Screening Systems in Blackwood,NJ, and spent over 20 years working until fall 2020, as a toxicologist and expert witness for alcohol and drug legal cases as owner of F. R. Pfeiffer Associates. Francis was considered to be one of the top expert witnesses on the East Coast for legal cases for accidents involving alcohol. Francis was an exceptional and gifted athlete, and played varsity baseball at Rutgers, as well as basketball and baseball for base teams while in the Army. Francis also played in a variety of competitive baseball, fast-pitch softball, and slow-pitch softball teams throughout the region before and after obtaining his Ph.D. Francis was a dedicated youth sports coach, coaching his children in soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, and golf. A 40-year member of the Riverton Country Club, golf was a passion for Francis. Francis worked hard to excel at golf, and enjoyed playing with his friends, children, and grandchildren. Francis also loved to hunt and fish; a sport he shared with many family members and friends. He followed his interest in fishing throughout the United States. Francis taught himself how to use personal computers in the 1980s, and became a “go to” source of computer knowledge for his similarly-aged friends who were computer challenged. He always loved having the latest technological phones, watches and gadgets, and his knowledge today could rival even that of his grandchildren. Francis developed a love of fast cars beginning at an early age and loved working on them and especially “racing” anyone off the line. He drove a manual transmission car well into his later years. Francis and Kay enjoyed time at the beach at their home in Manahawkin, New Jersey, as well as going on cruises, and other travel. The importance of family to Francis was evident to all. He loved to coach and watch his children and grandchildren in their sports and activities, as well as spend time with all at family gatherings. He will be missed by so many.
