My best friend in college...
Deeply broken and saddened to have just learned of this.

I remember Mr German for senior year English IV. He was a great teacher, lax in all the right ways but still could get an important lesson through to you. Some of the laughs we had as a class still stick with me all these years later. Crushed to hear of his untimely passing. My sincerest condolences to his family & friends.

Luis was the representation of Gods expectation of humanity. He was warm, humble, loving, kind, and a Light 💡 for everyone who knew him. I ❤️ you, you will be so deeply missed… Rest In Peace nephew… your race has been 🏃🏾. We will meet again in a better place 🙏🏽
I never had Mr. German as a teacher during my time at Lenape, but we talked every now and again. I don’t even think he knew my name but we’d always say “hey” “how you doing” etc… and while I didn’t think long and hard about it, I always liked talking to him no matter how brief. Although simple, I will always appreciate his kindness.
he was the one teacher i wanted my senior year. he has a kind soul. i went to the service and it was beautiful. i'll miss him more than anything, hes amazing. thank you mr german for everything you have done and given us

Luis always brightened my day whenever I substitute taught at Lenape, and I always looked forward to talking to him. We first bonded over our love of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, but eventually our ongoing, six-year conversation included a wide range of topics, from exercise to buffalo burgers to our mutual frustration whenever a show we liked was cancelled. His warm, generous nature, infectious smile, and good-natured laugh were a rare gift, and he always made everyone feel welcome and heard. I will always miss him and I will forever remember him. What a blessing it was to have known him. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, coworkers, and students.
Luis, you were one of my best friends in high school. You always made me laugh and you were so kind. I always knew you’d be something great and you were. You will forever be in my heart.
