Albert Abraham Marder's Obituary
Albert Abraham Marder, of Cherry Hill, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on June 3, 2017. He was 94.
Raised in Philadelphia, Albert proudly served in the US Navy during WWII as a medical corpsman.He was based in New Caledonia (a large island near the coast of New Zealand) where he treated injured Marines who were fighting on the islands in the South Pacific. He ended his tour of duty as the ship medic aboard a mine sweeper. After the war, he returned home and founded and owned a successful 'home improvement' company based in Maple Shade for over fifty years. He was an avid reader, an enthusiastic season ticket-holder for both the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles, and le loved to spend time with his family.
Albert was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (Edelman). He is survived by his daughter, Linda Lichtenfeld and her husband, Mark of Cherry Hill; two grandchildren, Kristen Glaser and her husband, John of Morrisville, NJ; Allison Santello and her husband, Robert of Neptune City, NJ, and two great-grandchildren, Aidan and Elias.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Albert's life celebration gathering at Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 E. Main St., on Thursday June 8th from 10:30 - 11:30 am. Those in attendance will be able to share some thoughts and prayers at 11:30 am, followed by a procession to the NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Rd., Wrightstown, NJ, for a burial at 1:30 pm.
