Alberta Lloyd's Obituary
Alberta Lloyd, 103, a lifelong resident of Cinnaminson, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2024. She was born on May 19, 1921, in Camden, NJ, to Albert and Alice May Falco. Wife of the late Paul V. Lloyd. Alberta was the devoted mother of the late Paul Lloyd (the late Karen), Alberta Synnestvedt (Kurt), and Dennis Lloyd (Bonnie). She was a cherished grandmother to Richard McLaud, Christopher McLaud, Meaghan Carlisle (Charles), Desiree Glosenger (William), Shannon DeCristofaro (Anthony), Jamie Ferroni (Justin), Susan Reeves, Jennifer Sutton (Brent), and the late B.J. Lloyd, as well as a proud great-grandmother to Charlie, Lilliana, Gianluca, Mariella, Giovanni, Giuliana, Vittoria, Alessandra, Justin Jr., Ashley (Kieran), Taylor (Joe), Madison (Drew), Joshua, Anna, Abigail, Brian, and Alexander, and a great-great-grandmother to Amelia and Astrid. Alberta was predeceased by her brother, John Downes, and will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Alberta was raised on her family’s farm in Cinnaminson, where she developed a lifelong love for gardening—particularly harvesting asparagus, greens, and cherries, as well as canning tomatoes. She took great pride in maintaining her home and was an exceptional cook, fondly remembered for the fresh pasta she made with her grandchildren. Alberta was also an avid seamstress who loved to sew, and even insisted that jeans needed to be ironed. Always impeccably dressed, she never owned a pair of sweatpants or sneakers, preferring dresses, heels, and jewelry every day. Her kindness, sense of humor, and warm presence will be missed by all who knew her. She loved unconditionally. To her family, Alberta was not only a beloved mother and grandmother but also their best friend.
Services for Alberta will be held privately by her family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alberta’s name may be made to the Salvation Army, https://www.salvationarmyusa.org/usn/.
