Alfred Brewin III's Obituary
Alfred Brewin III of Moorestown, NJ, passed away on April 13th, 2025, at the age of 89.
Born to the late Alfred and Annie (nee Potter) Brewin Jr., on November 4th, 1935, in Pennsauken, NJ. Alfred is reunited in death with his siblings, Anna (Howard) Goetz, Fritzi (Paul) Hillman, and Alice (Tommy) Knowles. Growing up, Alfred attended Palmyra High School as the graduating class of 1954. As a teenager, Alfred loved taking his boat out on The Delaware River and go fishing or work on his cars. Alfred’s handiness provided him with a career at Campbell Soup in Camden, NJ, as a mechanical engineer.
While working, Alfred met the love of his life, Carol (nee Shetzline). The pair married in 1975 and spent a loving 24 years before Carol’s passing in 1999. As the couple settled into their new home and life together, Alfred and Carol welcomed their loving children into their lives, Jennifer (Randy) Smith, and Alfred (Megan) Brewin IV. As a family, they loved to vacation at their family cabin in the Elk Mountains, PA, and later at their shore home in Long Beach Island. While Jen and Al were growing up, Alfred spent quality time with them individually, teaching Jen his knowledge of photography and film development, and Al how to take care of the yard and take pride in his home. As Jen and Al became adults, Alfred became the proud grandfather of Olivia, Ryan, Julia, Kayla, Alana. His grandchildren fondly remember spending time on Alfred’s boat, even allowing Olivia to steer it.
When Alfred was not spending time with his family, he was often working on various projects on his workbenches, tackling home improvement projects, or repairing his many watches. Alfred spent many summers at the shore house in LBI boating and fishing as he enjoyed his solitude.
Alfred will be remembered dearly for his strong work ethic, and his loyal, kind personality.
Interment is held privately.
