Alice M. Small's Obituary
Alice M. Small (nee Van Leer), of Moorestown, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on August 25, 2022, at the age of 74. Devoted wife of the late Joseph Small. Beloved mother to Teresa Crugnale (Frederick), Michele Schwartz (Ralph), Alice Francisco (John), and Joanne Nicolai (Eric). Cherished grandmother to Jessica, Nicholas, Vincent, Alec, Allison, Colin, Quinn, Ethan, Evan, Cole, and Erica, and her great grandchildren, Luca and Viviana. Loving daughter of the late Wilfred and Alice Van Leer (nee Taylor). Also predeceased by her three brothers, Wilfred, Robert, and Edward.
Alice was born and raised in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia where she proudly raised her family. Her greatest pleasure was spending quality time with her daughters and grandchildren. She also enjoyed her friendships with her Norris Street neighbors, especially her morning coffee with her dear friend, Jean.
A Viewing for family and friends will be held on Tuesday August 30, 2022, from 7:45 am to 9:45 am at Givnish Funeral Home, located at 600 E Main St., Maple Shade, NJ. Following the viewing, a funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am, at Holy Name Church, located at 701 Gaul St., Philadelphia, PA. Burial will be held following mass at Resurrection Cemetery, located at 5201 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
