Amanda Emigh Layton's Obituary
Amanda Emigh Layton passed away peacefully on Monday, June 5, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her husband and son were by her side. Born in Framingham, MA, Amanda was 45 years old. She was a resident of Riverton, NJ since 2002 and formerly lived in Malvern, PA. Beloved wife of 18 years to William F. Layton, Jr. and loving mother of William Chapman Layton. Daughter of Nellie and the late Richard Emigh. Sister of Lindsay P. (Joshua Allen) Emigh. Aunt of Jane Emigh Allen. Daughter-in-law of Marjorie and the late William Layton, sister-in-law of Kimberly Layton, Kelly (Joseph) Bogdany and Karrie (Phillip) Hurd. Also surviving are seven nieces and nephews, many extended family members and beloved friends. Amanda was an attorney and partner in the law firm of Duane Morris LLP in Philadelphia, PA. She received her undergraduate degree from Villanova University and her M.B.A. and law degrees cum laude from Rutgers University. She was an officer and board member of the PENJERDEL Employee Benefits Association (PEBA) in Philadelphia, a former trustee of the Burlington County College in NJ and a former councilwoman in Riverton, NJ. Amanda enjoyed traveling, her summer house at the Jersey Shore and most importantly Amanda enjoyed every minute with her son, Will, especially watching him play baseball. Amanda held her family and friends dearest to her heart. We ask that you join us for a celebration of Amanda's life Friday Eve 6 p.m. – 9.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at Givnish’s of Cinnaminson 1200 Route 130 North. Her Funeral Mass will follow 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 103 4th St, Riverton, NJ 08077. Interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cooper Hospital Foundation - 2 Aquarium Drive, Ste. 305, Camden, NJ 08103 and/or Burlington County Animal Shelter - 35 Academy Drive, Westampton, NJ 08060
