Anacoreta Merene Babia's Obituary
Anacoreta (Coring) Merene Babia was born on January 25, 1938, in Pagbilao, Quezon, Philippines.
She passed away on July 3, 2025, at her home in Mount Laurel, NJ peacefully after bravely
facing many years of cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Anacoreta’s life was marked by her unwavering faith, her deep love for her family, and her tireless service to others. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Miguel Omlas Babia, who preceded her in death in 2020.They shared a beautiful love story of over 60 years together. She was an active and cherished member of her Catholic community as a member of the choir and leader and organizer of the “Simbang Gabi” at Saint Charles Borromeo. As steward of her faith, she maintaining lifelong friendships with her Filipino community, both in the United States and in the Philippines. Her compassion and commitment extended beyond her family and friends to her professional life, where she dedicated over 30 years as a school nurse for the Camden County Early Childhood Development Center, a school for children with disabilities, and as a nurse supervisor at Sterling Manor Nursing Home. Through her work, she touched countless lives with her gentle care and steadfast support. Anacoreta also had tremendous talent for crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that her loved ones will cherish forever. She and her husband found great joy in traveling especially to their homeland in the Philippines, and loved exploring new places around the world with family and friends, creating lasting memories along the way. As founding members, both also enjoyed gatherings & celebrations with the Pagbilaoan Community; a life-long, special community of friends and family from their hometown in the Philippines here in the United States. Her warmth, creativity, strength, adventurous spirit, and generosity will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.. She is survived by her daughters, Janice, Jennifer, and Joanne; and her cherished grandchildren: Elize, Sebastian, Noah, Jaxen, Chloee, and Blair, who brought her endless joy and pride. Her warmth, strength, adventurous spirit, creativity, and generosity will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. The funeral wake will be held at at Givnish Funeral Home in Cinnaminson, NJ on Friday evening, July 18,2025, from 5pm to 7pm, and an additional viewing will be held on Saturday morning, July 19, 2025 from 9:30 - 10:30 am.
