Ann C. Kenville's Obituary
Ann C. Kenville (nee Oxley) passed away peacefully at home with Richard, her loving husband at her bedside. Born in Camden to James and Eleanor (Rutledge) Oxley, Ann was 88 years old. She was a longtime resident of Delran, and grew up in the Fairview section of Camden, NJ. Ann is predeceased by her siblings: Mary Oxley, James Oxley, Elizabeth Sacchetti, Eleanor Jamrogowicz, Joseph Oxley, Eugene Oxley, and Joan Comerford.
Ann was a cradle Catholic who devoted her life to family and church. She received the majority of her sacraments at St. Joan of Arc parish, and graduated from Camden Catholic High School. She was a secretary at RCA in Camden until meeting and marrying the love of her life. She was a founding member of Holy Name (Resurrection) Parish where she made lifelong friends, helped build a community, and raised her family.
In addition to Richard F. Kenville, Ann is survived by children Michael (Diane), Mariann (Thomas Moore, Jr.), and James (Colleen). Cherished grandmother of Thomas Sean and Luke and Grace and Colin Kenville. Dear sister of Claire Scheurich (Jack) and in laws Eleanor Oxley and Ralph Kenville (Sandy). Also surviving are many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Being the eighth child ensured that Ann was showered with love, and in return she generously showered those around her with that same love. She had a way of making you realize how special you were. Ann had a smile that could light up a room, and an infectious laugh. She never met a stranger, was a great listener, and always had good advice. She had a kind heart and loved fiercely making sure to hand down her family’s special recipe for lemonade. Ann also had an adventurous spirit. Whether traveling to Paris or Rome, or looking for a good deal on Canal St in NYC during a beloved bus trip, she was full of surprises.
Her joie de vivre took her on many travels throughout her life, but she was truly happy at home enjoying family and friends. Whether a recital, birthday, sacrament, shower, graduation, sporting event, Ann was always there ready to celebrate and support you with joy and encouragement. Ann treasured her many friends organizing reunions, planning luncheons, and contributing to the KAFFEL dinner club. The consummate hostess, Ann made it look easy and would remark it was nothing. But the memories she helped create for so many will endure.
Ann’s generous spirit extended broadly. She volunteered her time and talents to countless organizations through the years including Bishop Eustace Prep, knowing the grace of service to others. But her work with the Holy Name bereavement committee was noted as being most rewarding. Her joy was providing comfort to others and sharing the news of eternal life.
The past few years as Ann’s health declined, she had loving care from her family. The family is also grateful for the care and support of Ones You Love and Samaritan Hospice.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life and memorial mass for Ann 11 a.m. Friday, February 19th, at Resurrection Parish, Church of the Holy Name site, 260 Conrow Road, Delran, NJ. Public health precautions will be observed.
