Anne Louise Taylor's Obituary
Anne Louise Taylor (nee Lofaro), age 98, a long-time resident of Delran, NJ, was born in North Tarrytown, NY. She was the eldest of 4 sisters and a graduate of North Tarrytown High School and Marymount College. During her college years, Anne Louise was always grateful for the wisdom and guidance of the Religious Order of the Sacred Heart of Mary. In 1954, she married John Taylor of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England after they had begun a correspondence facilitated by the English Speaking Union. Mrs. Taylor was an educator in the Delran Schools from 1970 to retirement in 1989. She taught second and third grade, primarily at Cambridge Elementary School. She held lifetime memberships in the NEA, NJEA and BCEA. She treasured the meetings with fellow retired teachers. Anne Louise was a parishioner of the Church of the Holy Name, Delran from its inception in 1972. She served in several church ministries including lector, choir member and catechist. Until recent time, she remained an active member of the Perpetual Adoration Apostolate. She delighted in exploring new places during years of travel with her late husband. They shared similar interests including the arts and conferring on the Sunday NY Times crossword puzzle, which they often completed before sunset the same day. After his passing in 2013, she focused her energy into encouragement of the grandchildren in their academic and athletic pursuits. She was an avid fan of the game show Jeopardy! and continually amazed with her vast knowledge of a variety of subjects.
Anne Louise was always thankful for her many blessings: the family she came from; the family she married into; and the husband and family that were given to her. She leaves to mourn for her three children, Elizabeth Simpson (Frank), Anne Louise Troccoli (Dan) and John Taylor (Denise); nine grandchildren Frank Simpson (Mary Catherine), Christopher Simpson (Julianna), Victoria, Amelia and Sarah Troccoli, Christine Gilliss (Michael), Katherine Bitting (Kurt), Mary and Jack Taylor, and great Grandsons Dylan Gilliss, Evan Bitting, Francis O’Reilly-Gindhart Simpson as well as extended family on both sides of the Atlantic.
