Anthony "Sonny" Ciampaglia's Obituary
Anthony “Sonny” Ciampaglia, 87, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2023 at Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees, NJ.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 14, 1936 to the late Gaetano and Helen Ciampaglia. Devoted husband to the late Amelia Ciampaglia (nee Guinta). Dear father to Gaetano “Guy” Ciampaglia (Dolores) and Gary Ciampaglia (Phyllis). Beloved grandfather to Alyssa, Danielle, Nicolas, and Alexander. Brother to Jean, Michael, and John. Sonny will be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Sonny proudly served his country in the United States Army. He raised his family, along with his wife and best friend Amelia, in South Philadelphia for 60 years before her passing in 2018. On his downtime, Sonny enjoyed drawing, watching the Eagles and Phillies and being handy around the house.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, March 1st, at Givnish of Marlton, 398 E. Main Street, from 9:00am to 11:00am with his funeral service beginning at 11:00am. Entombment and Military Honors will follow at New St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bellmawr, NJ.
