Anthony P. Marcozzi Sr.'s Obituary
Anthony P. Marcozzi Sr., of Cinnaminson, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on August 8, 2025, at the age of 91. Born in Camden, NJ to the late Guido and Maria (née Giardini) Marcozzi, Anthony lived a life defined by love, music, hard work, and dedication to family.
He was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude Marcozzi (née Maier), with whom he shared 59 wonderful years of marriage. He was predeceased by his son, Anthony P. Marcozzi Jr., and siblings Theresa Abbate (Anthony) and Erasmo Marcozzi.
Anthony is survived by his loving children, Maria Jacoby (Anthony) and Diane Marcozzi (Todd DiPrima), and daughter-in-law Dara Marcozzi. He was the cherished Pop Pop of Jacqueline Jacoby, Christine Marcozzi, Nina Jacoby, Stephanie Marcozzi, Anthony Marcozzi III (Lucia), and Daniel Kats, and proud great-grandfather of Grace Marcozzi. He is also survived by his dear siblings Josephine Zerbo (late Russell) and Emedio Marcozzi (Fran), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A gifted musician, Anthony played in several bands throughout his life, including the Mummers, the U.S. Navy Band, the Liberty Band of Cinnaminson, and the Philadelphia Eagles Band. His passion for music was matched by his love for gardening, walking, and sports—especially the Phillies. Known to many around town for his daily walks, Anthony was a familiar and friendly face in the Cinnaminson community.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran who served from 1951 to 1953, Anthony went on to work for many years in the advertising department of the Courier-Post in Cherry Hill. He was also a proud member of the Knights of St. George. A devout parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church, he was a man of deep faith and strong values. Summers were spent with his beloved family in Ocean City on 35th Street, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Anthony’s legacy is one of humor, humility, generosity, and an unwavering belief in the power of education. He was always present for his children and grandchildren—his greatest joy in life.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, on Saturday August 16th from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. Mass will begin at 11 am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 2500 Branch Pike, Cinnaminson, NJ, followed by interment in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Anthony may be made the Parish of St. Charles Borromeo.
