Barbara A. Cassady's Obituary
Barbara A. Cassady (nee Hammell) 81, of Palmyra, NJ passed away suddenly on January 2, 2019. Beloved wife and high school sweetheart of the late John “Jack” Cassady for 58 years. Loving mother of Cindy Doele (Brad) and Sean Cassady (Elaina). Dear Grammy to Ashley Massa-Carl (Erik), Justine Cassady-Lorenz (Kyle), Lauren Massa (Mathew), Briana Cassady, Kaitlynn Creagh, Brandi Creagh, Alycia Cassady, Francis Creagh, Conrad Cicero, and Shane Cassady. Great -Grammy to Justin Carl, Dameon Carl, Colton Clauser, and Neal Urwiler Jr.
Barbara enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and running.
Barbara was a pillar of her community with 58 years of service to many charitable organizations. As chairman and later president of The Woman’s Club of Burlington, she helped raise money for the first Jaws of Life for the Endeavor Fire Squad, funds for mentally challenged kids and aided the Aged Women’s Home of Burlington. She was the president of the Woman’s Guild to Zurbrugg Memorial Hospital, where she also served on the board of directors. The events they planned, such as show homes and charity balls were to raise money for the first mammography machine for Zurbrugg Hospital, and other charitable causes.
Barbara served St. Casimir church as a lifelong member and as the treasurer of Alter Rosary Society.
She also worked as a Realtor for Lamon Associates and later decorated luxury yachts for Bill Bales and Company.
Barbara had many accomplishments but what made her most proud was her family. She was a beautiful, warm and loving mother and grandmother. She always had time to listen to a problem and share her loving advice.
