I like to say that my mother was spiritual rather than religious. I found an example of this today in her dresser drawer, written by her on a scrap of paper:
"Hope is like the sun, which as we travel toward it, casts the shadow of our burdens behind."
I take comfort that as she traveled toward the sun she did so knowing that while I will miss her every day she will always be with me, and that I will be okay.
