Barbara Thiel's Obituary
Barbara J. Thiel (nee Talucci), age 72, of Marlton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 7, 2018. She was the beloved mother of Michael of Marlton, Damen (Regina) of Cherry Hill, and Jeffrey (Viktoriya) of Marlton. She was the devoted grandmother of Morgan, Emma, Sophia, Jack, and Olivia. She grew up in Camden, New Jersey and raised her children in Voorhees, New Jersey.
Barbara worked for a bank for over thirteen years. Before that, she retired from her career as a sales representative to care for her ailing mother, Cecelia, in the final years of her life.
Barbara was fiercely independent and loyal to her family. She did things her own way and in her own time. She battled ovarian cancer for nearly two years before finally succumbing to the disease. Much to everyone’s amazement, she continued to work full time and watch her grandchildren until the very end.
Barbara loved spending time with her family, going to restaurants, reading books, seeing movies, and watching hours of MSNBC.
Barbara did not want to have a traditional funeral service. She hoped her family and close friends would come together and have a party in her name. To honor her wishes, a private Celebration of Life for the family and close friends will be held on August 25, 2018.
