Beatrice Rose's Obituary
Beatrice Rose (nee Foglia), of Philadelphia, PA, passed away after a brief illness on March 16, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Louis and Clara (nee DeVece) Foglia, she was 93 years old.
Beatrice was the beloved wife of Henry Rose for 76 wonderful years. She was the loving mother to her 5 daughters, Elaine Rose, Cindy Boll (Steve), Dawn McCarney (Michael), Angela DeVece Woods (predeceased by Dave), and Clarice Palmer (Walter). She was the cherished grandmother of 14 and proud great-grandmother of 19.
She is also survived by her dear brother, Anthony Foglia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Louis, Jerry, and Nicholas Foglia.
Beatrice was known for her feisty spirit and vibrant personality. A true spitfire, she had an energy and presence that filled every room. She loved to shop and had a passion for fashion—clothes, shoes, handbags, and anything feminine always caught her eye. Her hair was always perfectly done, and she was never seen without being impeccably dressed.
At home, Beatrice enjoyed spending time with her husband Henry watching professional wrestling, watching her grandson Christian playing soccer and video games, and cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies. She also expressed her love for family through cooking, especially preparing the Italian dishes that everyone looked forward to enjoying together.
Beatrice will be remembered for her lively spirit, her love of family, and the joy she brought to those around her.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, March 23, at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, 4th Street and Linden Avenue, from 9:45 am to 11 am. Mass will begin at 11 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations in Beatrice’s name made to Shriner’s Hospital, www.shrinerschildrens.org, or to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
