Bill Barr's Obituary
Bill Barr, 71, of Riverton, NJ, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on October 30, 2023. Born on March 4, 1952 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Harry and Mildred Barr. Devoted husband to Angela Sandone Barr for 24 years. Dear father to Jennifer Sharpe (Carl) and Gregg Barr (Jane). Grandfather to Juliana, Ella, and James. Brother to Gail Haines. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Bill embarked on his professional journey as a pioneer in the network engineering industry in the 1970s, eventually dedicating his life to IT and became a manager of date communications, where he forged lasting friendships. He was deeply passionate about his work, showcasing excellent leadership and tact in managing his team. Outside of work, Bill found immense joy in fishing on his boat and summers spent in Ocean City, NJ with his family. He was a jack of all trades, from renovating houses to fixing anything he set his mind to, and took great pride in maintaining his home, gardens, and yard. His favorite drink was the Manhattan which he enjoyed while sitting with Angela in their Adirondack chairs overlooking the Pompeston Creek. He will be cherished for his profound love for his children and grandchildren. In his 24-year marriage to Angela, their love for each other grew. As his Alzheimer’s progressed his boyish charm emerged and brought joy to everyone he met. No one could forget his infectious smile. His dedication to Angela was unwavering, and their love for each other was truly remarkable.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, November 2nd at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and again on Friday, November 3rd from 9:00-10:30am. His funeral mass will follow at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church in Riverton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s name may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
