Bobby G. Barnett's Obituary
Bobby G. Barnett passed peacefully on May 7, 2024 with his wife by his side. He was eighty-eight years old.
He was born in Crowville, Louisiana to Howard and Vera Barnett.
He was a resident of Mt. Laurel, and a former resident of Hainesport and Cinnaminson.
Bobby was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Bernadette (nee Foye) Barnett, his two sons Anthony and James P. Barnett, his daughter, Christine Barnett, his grandson, Sean Speliades, and his brothers, A.V. Barnett, Jerry Barnett and James H. Barnett.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Grace M. (nee Surrusco) Barnett.
He is the loving father of Theresa Barnett and Grandfather of Stephen Speliades.
He is the Great-Grandfather of Sophia Joy and Athena Grace.
Also surviving are his sister, Patricia Barnett Monfrey (Mark), as well as numerous other relatives.
Bobby proudly served his country in the US Air Force for 20 years, and retired as a Technical Sergeant. During his time of service he worked as an Electronics Instructor and also as a team Intelligence Inspector in the Arctic along the Distant Early Warning (DEW Line). His service took him to work in several countries, including Turkey, France, England, and the Philippines, as well as a number of states in the USA. He was employed as a software engineer at ADP (Automatic Data Processing), Honeywell, and Telegenix.
Fascinated by airplanes from his childhood, Bobby became a small engine pilot, enjoying his Piper Pacer and his Cessna. He was a faithful and valued member of EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) Chapter 240.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Givnish Funeral Home Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 N, Cinnaminson, NJ 08077.
On Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM, Bobby’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 1603 Marne Highway, Hainesport, NJ 08036. After the Mass, Military Honors will take place.
In lieu of flowers, Contributions to the charity of your choice may be made in Memory of Bobby Barnett.
