Brian S. Bauer's Obituary
Brian S. Bauer passed away peacefully at home on June 9, 2026. He celebrated his 76th birthday with an Eagles green cupcake (which turned out to be his last meal - very fitting for a lifelong fan!).
Born in Philadelphia to Raymond and Eva Bauer, he grew up in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania and earned a bachelor’s in marketing from LaSalle University. He made Delran his home for the past 42 years and was husband to Andrea F. Bauer (nee Dorney) for “49 glorious years.”
Father of Lisa (Ed) Miller, Amy (Justin) Leavy and Andrew Bauer. Cherished Pop Pop to Julia, James, Dexter, Emily and Emmett. Brother-in-law of Michael (Jackie) Dorney, Alison (Leo) Riley, Maryellen (Keith) Ruck and the late Barbara Divine. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and last but not least, 6 Granddogs who reveled in Pop Pop’s back scratching and undivided attention.
Brian became a musician at a very young age and played in a band since he was 13 years old. He learned to play in a unique way - not by reading sheet music, but by ear. He played the guitar, bass and took the lead on most vocals in his early days. Having a live band was his primary, non-negotiable requirement for Lisa and Amy’s weddings…and they had to allow him to sing (...and maybe play the guitar). His band played in bars when they were young and weddings as they matured. Until very recently, he was also part of the Saturday 5:00 church band at St. Charles Borromeo. Music was always an integral part of his life. He taught Andrew how to play the guitar and they always found time to enjoy it together right until his last days.
At 17, Brian began working in the automotive aftermarket, and quickly led the way in Wholesale Sales. He had the ability to talk to anyone and passed this (along with his long winded story telling) to his children and you can still see much of him in their careers today. Most of his experience was with MAWDI as the Northeast Regional Accounts Manager, and he would travel often to build and maintain relationships with his customers. He had a passion for the business and most recently worked to instill that as a Performance Coach for a newly created Wholesale program for BMW and Mercedes.
E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles! Brian had been going to the games since the 70s and had been a season ticket holder since 1981. Rain or shine, win or lose, the Eagles were always #1 of his top 2 favorite teams; #2 was any team playing Dallas that week. If you were lucky enough to go with Brian to a game, he had a specific routine for game day. On Sundays, you started at The Melrose in South Phila where you had to order scrapple (the best parts of the pig) and then walked to the subway to get to the game. When you got to your seats, everyone knew each other. He had witnessed some of the most historic Eagles moments over the past 50 years.
Brian enjoyed coaching the Delran 110lb. Pop Warner football team, which he began when Andrew was in grade school. He knew so much about a game he never played and was proud to teach young athletes not only how to properly carry a football but also how to carry themselves off the field. Often, we would be out in the community and hear “Hi Coach!” and he still knew every one of his former players, no matter how many years had gone by. He delighted in catching up with them.
Brian received incredibly compassionate care from the dedicated team at Fox Chase Cancer Center for more than six years. Mentally, he never gave up on his cancer journey, but physically, it overtook him. So that others may benefit, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center at https://www.foxchase.org
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Brian's Memorial Mass on Monday, June 15th, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 2500 Branch Pike, Cinnaminson, NJ. The eulogy will begin promptly at 10:20 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m.
