Right now (6/10/23), I am on the Heidelberg University campus for my 40 year reunion. On the way here, I thought that it would be really cool to see Brian here. I want to extend my condolences to his friends and family. Brian and I were German majors together- a very small group. We were both part of the Junior Year Abroad group in Heidelberg, and I think we became friends there. We had a great time touring Europe with the other American students. We would hang out in our student center and talk about our adventures. When we came back to Ohio for our senior year, we would sometimes get homesick for Germany and I know I could reminisce with Brian about all the fun we had to cheer up. Brian and I were as different as 2 people could be, but we were friends just the same. Today there was a ceremony of remembrance for all alumni who had died this year, and Brian’s name was read.
