Carmela M. Lombardi's Obituary
Carmela M Lombardi, (nee Crivelli), passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family on May 1, 2025. She lived a vibrant life filled with Family, Friends, Love and Laughter and she touched many hearts with her genuine character and caring nature. She was thoughtful and compassionate to everyone. She will be forever missed.
Carmela was born on January 7,1944 in Newark, NJ and grew up in Berkeley Heights NJ. She became a hairdresser in New Providence where she was spotted one day crossing the street by her soon to be husband, Carmen Lombardi. Six months later they were married. It was love at first sight!
Carmela also worked as a waitress and a nanny to small children for many years. She was a proud member of the community service group the JayCee-ettes for many years. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, bingo, and cruising with family and friends. She was an amazing cook and always enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. You never went home hungry or empty handed when you were Carmela’s guest. Her Italian specialties would rival the best chefs in the world!
Carmela is predeceased by her son Carmine Lombardi and is survived by her beloved husband Carmen Lombardi, sons, John (Jill) and Dino; grandchildren, Lauren Dawson (Brandon) and Nicolo; great grandchildren, Leonardo, Theodore, Laniella, and many nieces and nephews. Her memory will live on in the stories she told and the love she left behind.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate her life, cherishing the moments they spent together and the lessons she imparted. Her kindness and compassion remain a guiding light, encouraging others to carry forward her legacy of warmth and generosity. As they continue their journeys, they do so with her spirit as a gentle reminder to embrace life fully and to cherish every precious moment. Her spirit will forever inspire those who knew her.
May she rest in eternal peace.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Givnish of Marlton, 398 East Main Street, on Thursday, May 8th from 10 am to 12 pm. A service will begin at 12 pm, followed by interment in Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ. Luncheon to follow the committal ceremony.
