Carmella Buonanno's Obituary
Carmella Buonanno (nee Quicquaro), of Mount Laurel, formerly of Pennsauken, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2026, the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Nicola and Marie Quicquaro, she was 82 years old.
Carmella was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Joseph Buonanno Sr., and her sister, Phyll Bauer (Bill).
She is survived by her loving children, Jeanette Huntington (James), Michelle Buonanno, and Joseph Buonanno Jr. (Traci); her cherished grandchildren, Angela Inzerillo (Anthony), Joseph Huntington, Lucas Huntington, Sofia Buonanno, Sonny Buonanno, and Alexis Buonanno; and her adored great-grandchildren, Parker, Koleson, and Stark.
A wonderful cook and baker, Carmella found great joy in preparing meals and treats for those she loved. Family and friends will fondly remember her homemade waffles, delicious crabs, chocolate-covered strawberries, and cookies, all made with love. She also enjoyed playing poker and bingo and loved spending time at the casinos, where she shared many happy moments with family and friends.
Throughout her life, Carmella faced many hardships with remarkable strength, resilience, and determination. Those who knew her affectionately called her "Wonder Woman," a testament to her unwavering spirit and ability to overcome life's challenges with grace.
Above all else, Carmella treasured her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her love, generosity, and strength will remain an enduring legacy in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, July 21st, at Sacred Heart Church on 4th Street and Linden Avenue, Riverton, NJ, from 10 – 11 am. Mass will begin at 11 am. Interment will be private.
