Remembering Carmen (Elio Cerini)
My friendship with Carmen is a long story, written and built over many years. In the early seventies I was in charge of the Italian subsidiary of one of his most important customers. Carmen was a professional, knowledgeable and respected auditor, with a personal human touch. His fluency in Italian ensured an indisputable advantage in personal relationships.
In 1978, I was moved to the USA, in a larger responsibility; this gave us more opportunities to work together, strengthen our relations and know one another more deeply. Day after day, we became good friends. I left the Company in 1990 and took a new responsibility in Italy, but our contacts continued across the Ocean and in any opportunities we could envisage and create.
There’s a great sense of security that comes with good, old friends. They finish our sentences, know our needs or desires; they become an extension of the family. Many people walk in and out of one’s life; but only true friends live their footprints in our heart
Carmen was extremely diligent in calling, keeping in contact, informing and asking. I had become his Italian brother.
There is one folder in my files named “Carfer”, Carmen’s mail address. It contains hundreds of photos, articles, quotes, funny stories that Carmen sent me in years.
I picked up one :
True friends are hard to find, harder to leave and impossible to forget …
There’s a thing that shocks and surprises about an old good friend when he is no longer with us: his silence. I still have an echo in my ear and I treasure it.
I talked to Carmen at Christmas and again mid- February, when the virus broke out in Italy. He was concerned for me. As usual, he terminated the conversations saying …” every day is a beautiful day” …
I shall keep this phrase in my ear, dear Carmen, until I hear it again.
Ciao, Carmen, arrivederci!
Carmen Ferraioli was a distinguished executive and personal friend. Carmen and I enjoyed having served as President of the Philadelphia chapter of the financial executives institute.
Carmen was an exceptional father and Nora and I had the honor of meeting Kathleen and family at his home .
Our deepest sympathy to Kathleen and his beautiful family.
May God grant Carmen eternal peace and may the perpetual light shine upon him. Gene and Nora Buckley
I was a client/work associate of Carmen. He introduced me to some of his favorite Italian restaurants in the Philadelphia area (since I was a visitor from NY at the time). May he rest in peace.

Very sad to hear he has passed. I interfaced/ worked and traveled with him for many years. He was one of the best, considerate, brightest persons with whom I ever worked. He was always concerned about how you were as an individual and how your family was doing. He was always very protective of his “people”.
I will miss him greatly.
Nancy and I express our deepest sympathy to Kathleen and the rest of his loving family.
I am saddened to hear the news of Carmen’s passing. I grew up across the street from Carmen and his family. I always felt a sense of security and happiness. as he watched over the neighborhood. He took an interest in my life growing up asking about middle school, high school, sports, the dog, college. Carmen always had a smile and was ready to lend a positive piece of advice at exactly the right time. I will truly miss his presence. I will remember him and his positive outlook with his catch phrase “Every day’s a good day”
I was so sorry to hear this news. Mr. Ferraioli was always so kind to my sister and I growing up, adding ‘Bella’ when addressing us and warmly welcoming us to his home. Please know our family is keeping you all in thoughts and prayers and we send all our love.
We are so sorry for your loss and are holding all of you in our hearts. Love Laura Trey and girls
