Carmen Saginario Jr.'s Obituary
Carmen Saginario, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at his residence in Cinnaminson, NJ. Born in Paterson, NJ, to Carmen and Norma (née Mazzeo) Saginario, Carmen was 67 years old.
He was the loving father of Kimberly (Christopher) Sexton, Anna Saginario, and Carmen Saginario, III and cherished Pop-Pop to Luke. He is also survived by his former wife, Laura Lancaster Saginario and his dear sister Maryann Skaflestad (the late John Bogle). Also, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
Carmen was a graduate of Union College in Schenectady, NY, Class of 1979, where he also played college football after an accomplished high school football career at Wayne Valley High School.
He went on to earn his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1983. He was a respected partner at Capehart & Scatchard Law Firm in Mt. Laurel.
Deeply devoted to his community, Carmen served for over 20 years with the Cinnaminson Education Foundation and was actively involved in Cinnaminson Township political affairs. He passionately supported and coached his children’s sports teams and was always present on the sidelines. Known for his upbeat personality and warm presence, Carmen frequently served as emcee at community events—he was a natural entertainer who could make any crowd laugh.
In addition to everything he accomplished in his life, what truly set him apart was who he was to the people that knew and loved him. He lit up every room he walked into, always telling jokes and the best (and sometimes slightly embellished) stories, never failing to make those around him laugh. He loved spending time with family and friends, having catches with his kids, dancing to the Backstreet Boys, and simply being present with those he loved so deeply. He was a leader, a role model, and a constant source of joy and comfort.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 31st from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North. His Life Celebration Service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Fighting Pretty, an organization that empowers women battling cancer to feel strong and beautiful.
