Carmen Maria Salguero's Obituary
Carmen Maria Salguero (Gonzalez) of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico entered into eternal rest on December 7, 2020, at the age of 63.
Born on April 20, 1957, Carmen was the daughter of Juan Irene Gonzalez and the late Maria Vazquez. Carmen was the second oldest of seven children. She was predeceased by her older sister Catalina, and is survived by her younger siblings Epifanio, Maria, Juan, Lydia, and Jose Gonzalez.
In addition to her siblings, Carmen is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Francisco Salguero Sr., her devoted children Erika (Enrique) Mella, Juan (Jacinta) Gonzalez, Francisco (Aurea) Salguero Jr., and Giancarlo (Geovanna) Salguero, along with fourteen admiring grandchildren.
Carmen was an esteemed lifelong employee of the United States Social Security Administration in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with over 39 years of dedicated service as a Social Security Insurance Specialist. When she was not active succeeding at her career, Carmen spent all her time at home thriving as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor. In retirement, the latter became her life’s essence.
Carmen was a passionate individual who loved to cook, bake, sing, and dance, and she was famously known for her performance skills of doing all at the same time. Her most cheerful days were spent surrounded by her family and friends, typically over one of her meals she vigorously marinated with love. Her cooking could bring anyone together, second only to the draw of her magnetic personality and bright smile which could brighten any room.
Throughout her entire life, love was the biggest part of who Carmen was. She adopted this belief from her devotion to her religion. Carmen always found meaningful ways to demonstrate love to everyone she encountered, and they could not help but to love her in return. The love she embroidered into the hearts of her family and friends, whether through kind words, a gesture, a meal, a warm hug, or a smile will last forever. Therefore, it has now become be the proud mission of her family to share her fond memory and magnificent example with the generations that follow.
