Carol Edwards' Obituary
Carol Ann Edwards, age 80, of Medford, NJ passed away on January 19, 2024 at Jefferson Hospital Cherry Hill. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend and nurse.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Emma (Landis) Edwards of Malvern, PA.
Carol is survived by her brother, Gary Edwards and wife Betty; her nieces, Kimberly Taylor (Mark) and Rebecca Harnage (Lee); her nephews Jonathan Edwards and Nathan Edwards; her great nieces and nephews Benjamin, Griffin, Madeline, and Charlotte Taylor; Hope and Haylee Harnage; and Oliver Edwards; and her dearest friends Elinor Winter in NJ and Linda Wymer in SC.
Carol graduated from Conestoga High School in Berwyn, PA and Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, PA as an RN in their registered nursing program. She began her nursing career at Columbia Presbyterian in New York and later returned to Pennsylvania to work at Philadelphia General Hospital as a dialysis nurse. She worked in the operating room at Wills Eye Hospital and became a head nurse. After moving to New Jersey, she worked as a medical liaison with IOLAB/Site which later became Johnson and Johnson, where Carol retired from the position of Clinical Sales Specialist.
Carol was very creative and talented and enjoyed hobbies including quilting, knitting and cross stitch. She made beautiful hand-made gifts for her friends and family, always knowing just how to make her loved ones feel special. She was an award-winning quilter and was involved with Berry Basket Quilters in Medford, NJ; she created their newsletter and was the editor for many years. Carol was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Voorhees, NJ and participated in its early creation. She loved making people laugh, going to the beach, traveling, and watching Eagles football. Carol loved cats and always had a feline companion; she is survived by her dear cat, Sammy.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Wednesday April 10th, 2024 beginning at 10:00 am. The memorial service for Carol will follow at 11:00 am at Givnish Funeral Home, 398 E. Main St., Marlton, NJ 08053.
A burial service will be held on April 11, 2024 at 11:00 am at Great Valley Presbyterian Church in Malvern, PA.
