Carol L. Litchfield's Obituary
Carol L. Litchfield (née Thacklinburg), of Maple Shade, NJ, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 29, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Frank and Edith (née Green) Thacklinburg, Carol was 87 years old.
Carol was the beloved wife of the late John A. “Jack” Litchfield, who passed in January 2014. Together they built a large and loving family, of which Carol was immensely proud. She was the devoted mother of eight children: John (late Susan), D.C. Lawrence, Marlis Carrion (Eugene), Linda O’Neal, Debbie Agzigian (Jim), David, Victor, and Tim.
She was the cherished Mom Mom of Stacey (Phil), John (Jen), Nick (Gina), Maggie, Brian, K.C. (Bari), Sean (Cherese), Deblyn (Jeff), Marlis (Nick), the late Adam, Christina, Chris (Tina), Andrew (Gina), Ziggy (Lauren), Tom (Christina), Bob (Kristen), Amanda (Joe), Becca (Mitch), Doug (Kate), Tracy (Brian), Dave (Liz), and Matt (Alley); Great Mom Mom of 46, and Great Great Mom Mom of one on the way. She was also loved and will be missed by her loyal dog, Milo. Carol was predeceased by her sister, Elinor Thacklinburg.
Carol dedicated her early years to raising her children, creating a warm and lively home filled with traditions that continue today. Later, she worked for ACME for 25 years, where she was known for her strong work ethic and friendly spirit.
A lover of animals, camping in her trailer, and a good game of bingo, Carol found joy in simple, meaningful moments. Above all, she treasured attending every event for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She never missed a chance to cheer them on, and she often smiled proudly and said, “I created all of this!”
As the matriarch of her family, Carol passed down more than love—she passed down traditions. She cherished cooking and baking, teaching everyone around her how to make family recipes that will continue for generations. “Cookie Day,” her annual Christmas cookie-baking celebration with family and friends, remains one of her most treasured legacies.
Carol will be remembered for her warmth, her strength, her generosity, and the incredible family she built with her own two hands and heart. Her impact lives on in every life she touched and in every tradition she created.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 East Main Street, on Friday, December 5 from 9 am to 12 pm. A service will begin at 12 pm, and will be livestreamed (https://www.viewlogies.net/givnish/PZ1pyk2LZ?pin=125185). Interment will be private.
