Cecelia P. Burke's Obituary
Cecelia P. Burke passed away unexpectedly due to Covid-19 on January 28, 2021. Born in Philadelphia, PA to William F. and Cecelia B. Burke, Cecelia was 67 years old. She was a resident of Riverton, NJ and formerly lived in Cinnaminson, NJ. Loving mother of Jennifer (Ray) Kengeter and Mary (Kevin Cahill) Hess. Dear sister of William (Donna) Burke, the late Martin (Pam Sellers) Burke, Donna (Jim) Edward, Robert Burke, Joseph (Debra) Burke, and her special brother Jimmy Burke. Cherished Gigi of Kurtis, Calvin, Xavier and Owen. Also, a beloved and fun-loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Cecelia spent her career helping others as a Registered Nurse, most recently with Genesis Health Center in Voorhees, NJ. She served her patients with dignity, respect and true compassion and often was the hand others held through their last days. Selfless to the end, she chose to remain on the frontline. She was a woman of strong Catholic faith and lived out her faith in her work, her family and in each relationship and interaction she had.
Celia spent her childhood swimming at Pomona swim club with her siblings and friends. She was an avid traveler and instilled a love of adventure to her family. Whether it was the rolling hills of Ireland, snorkeling in Hawaii, the magic of Disney, the leaves of the Shenandoah or the beach in Ocean City MD, Celia was always looking for the next adventure, convertible top down and rally cap on! We will continue to honor her legacy by living life to the fullest and exploring our world with God as our guide. We know she will remain in the hearts of all of those who loved and knew her.
