Celeste Ann Peterson-Sloss passed away peacefully on May 8, 2020 after a 10 year struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born in Mt. Holly to William S. and Elena Peterson, Celeste was 52 years old. She was a resident of Marlton for the Read Obituary
You know how the first grand kid gets to decide what the grandparents are called? Apparently the first niece gets to give you your nickname. I had no idea until recently that her close friends and family called her "Cessy" because of me. My sister and I always referred to her as our "favorite Aunt". She once told me while I was away at college, that a good time to invite her was when I was running low on snack food. She let my son ride on her lap on her wheel chair and steer her fast like an amusement ride...and I think she enjoyed it more than he did. I miss her.
I worked with Celeste at the publishing company Information Today, Inc. for ages -- probably 20 years -- up until late 2019. I'll always remember her as wickedly witty and sharp as a tack.
Celeste was an outstanding proofreader; nothing got by her! The other editors and I trusted her implicitly. I used to refer to her as Eagle-Eye Sloss, because if there was an error in any copy, she'd spot it. I so appreciated her talents and enjoyed working with her.
She was also a very kind, sweet, and fun person. I've been missing her already.
To Mark and her family, my sincere condolences. I'm so sorry that she suffered during this last decade, and I'm glad that she's at peace now, without the burden of the diseased body that hampered her sharp mind. Rest in peace and light, my friend.

So saddened by the news of Celeste's passing. We were childhood friends. We loved playing in the neighborhood park near her home and climbing trees. Well, she climbed the trees, I would yell up to her from the ground. Celeste was in Gifted and Talented classes. She loved to read. I enjoyed having dinner over the Peterson's home, because Celeste's grandmother lived with them and she made the most delicious spaghetti and meatballs and she spoke Italian. Who could ask for anything more. I will cherish our childhood memories. Comforted by the fact that she has transitioned now and is no longer in pain. Prayers for her family.
