Charles L. Craig's Obituary
Charles L. Craig passed away on September 15, 2018, he was 87 years old. Charles was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Florence Craig.
Charles served in the Korean War with the U.S. Army, after which he began his long career as a Steamship Agent, starting with the Port of Boston. This is where he eventually met his late wife Ruth of 62 years.
During the early years of his career, Charles simultaneously put himself through college, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University. He continued his career, eventually with the Ports of New York and then Philadelphia, retiring in 1996. Charles is remembered as a good, loving father with a great sense of humor, love of music and reading, and an impeccable dresser. As a young man he was an avid swimmer, and later in life a runner, often placing in race events. He was frequently referred to as the "Mayor of the Y"(MCA).
Charles is survived by his three children Leslie Clyde (Jeff), Bobby Craig, Brian Craig, and his sister Fran Fifield. Grandfather to four grandchildren Corey Clyde (Abbe), Kelly Clayton (Kyle), Evan Clyde, and Sean Clyde. Great-grandfather to identical one-year old twin boys, Bennett and Greyson Clyde (Corey and Abbe).
