Charles J. Hayward Sr. 's Obituary
Charles Joseph “Charlie” Hayward, Sr. passed away peacefully on November 29, 2017 with his family by his side. Born in Upper Darby, PA on October 11, 1935 he was 82 years old. Beloved husband of 55 years to Catherine Hayward (nee Smith) and Loving father to Renee Bryson (nee Hayward)and her husband Paul, and Chuck Hayward and his wife Lisa Hayward (nee Suter). Loving Grandfather to Cody, Paige, and Cole Bryson, and Ty, Tate and Reece Hayward. Charlie is also survived by his sisters Gladys Meade (nee Hayward) and Trudy Cohen (nee Hayward).
Charlie was a US Navy Veteran serving our country aboard the U.S.S Lee (DL4) and the U.S.S Everglades (AD24) from 1955-1959. After his service he worked for Ritter Finance and 3rd National Bank before owning and operating two successful businesses, The Sub Shoppe and M&C Deli in Maple Shade, NJ. Later in life he was a school bus driver for the Lenape Regional School District until his retirement.
Friends and relatives are invited to Charlie’s Life celebration services on Thursday, December 7th from 10:00am to 11:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help of Maple Shade. His Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Caring Hospice of South Jersey, 133-Q Gaither Dr., Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054
