Recently, while at the Burlington County Pop Orchestra and seeing a Bass Fiddle performance, I thought about dear Charlie! I had some time today to go onto the local paper's Obituary--and there it was --how sad it is!

I am so sorry, even though I am over a year late, in sending our condolences. What a fine, brilliant, and interesting person the world has lost.

My memories go back to a grand house in Cinnaminson, great sing-a-longs on Christmas evening with a Bass and Piano accompaniment, a wonderful spread of food on the dining room table, and gracious hospitality. Oh, almost forgot the BEST NEW YEAR's Eve Party ever--and oh that laugh!

I am so sorry that Chapter of our lives is closed. I see Charlie's smiling picture, and it makes me think that he knows he has left a wonderful memory behind.

The PA Ballet will not be the same without Charlie’s appreciative voice hailing from the audience. Attending most days in a week of shows, he would often come to the edge of the pit to wave, thank the orchestra, or chat about the bass. Knowing he was in the audience made those shows even more fun. I hope that someday, after I put the bass down professionally that I can both enjoy, and support, the arts in a way approaching his dedication.

Charley will be sorely missed at the Lutheran Home (Lutheran Crossings) as he was a beloved part of our activity program for many years. Every month he and Pearl would come to the home and share their gifts of song and laughter to our residents bringing to each a measure of joy. He was always quick with a smile and a joke, a warm embrace and a kind word. The residents loved him as his sing a longs were a monthly treat and a must go to activity. Thank you Charley for all of your years as a volunteer. The residents will greatly miss you and I will too. Your love for others is a light that shone the grace of God to each you encountered.
Matthew 25:23- His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!'
