Charles Peterson's Obituary
Charles (Chuck) Peterson was called home to eternal life with the Lord on July 31, 2021. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 60 years, Carol Peterson (Dorsano), daughters Terese Campbell (Ed), Angela Francis (Jim), Christy Fitzpatrick (Brian) and grandchildren Drew (Sam), Samantha (Chris), Jamie, CJ, Andrew, Jeff, Chris, Scott, and Jillian. He was predeceased by his dear son-in-law Clay Harris, Jr. and beloved granddaughter Morgan Harris. He is also survived by three siblings, Lloyd Peterson, Clifford Peterson (Helen), and Diane Galligan (Mike) and many nieces and nephews each with whom he shared a special bond.
He was born on January 10, 1939 in Riverside, IL to parents Robert and Bernice Peterson. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp prior to going to work in the new and emerging field of Information Technology and Data Processing. He enjoyed a long and successful career where he worked for Automatic Electric and associated companies for his entire professional life until retiring with Alcatel Data Solutions in the late nineties. After his retirement, he achieved a dream of becoming a pilot. He enjoyed flying until his illness prevented him from continuing to do so. He also enjoyed traveling with his family and wife. Memorable trips included Italy and Alaska. His true passion was his family, who he loved and enjoyed immensely. He had a special bond with each daughter, son-in-law and grandchild always giving of his time, a listening ear and just being present. His first concern was always his loving wife, especially recently when his health began to fail him.
He will always be remembered for his sharp wit and humor, intellect, and genuine caring demeanor. He left an indelible mark on all of those who loved him or knew him. He lived his life in a way that has served as a great example of an abundant life of love and service to others. He will be missed dearly by many.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday evening at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, from 6 pm to 9 pm, and on Friday morning at Saint Charles Borromeo R.C. Church, 2500 Branch Pike, Cinnaminson, from 10:30 am to 11:30. His Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 am, and will be livestreamed.
