Claire Grande's Obituary
Claire (Krauss) Grande, of Maple Shade, passed away on April 30, 2021, at the age of 95. She was the only child of the late Jacob E. Krauss and Edna (nee Bidét).
Beloved wife, best friend, and soulmate of the late Fred A. Grande. Beloved mother of Carol G. Guadagno, Julia G. Long, and the late Fred E. Grande. Grandmother of six granddaughters ( Andrea, Nicole, Lea, Lauren, Candace and Amanda ) and six great grandchildren.
Claire was a kind, generous woman who loved animals, flowers, music and dancing. She wrote poetry and enjoyed reading, crosswords, and the Phillies. Above all, she enjoyed sending “Thinking of You” cards to friends whom she felt needed a “cheer up.”
Claire started volunteering early in life by making bandages for China when they were attacked in 1939 by Japan. The bandages were packed and shipped to Episcopal missionaries in China. In her earlier years, she taught Sunday school. She was a member of the PTA while her children were in school and was active in the Maple Shade Lions Club when her husband was a member. She was the co-owner of Grande Construction for 35 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 East Main Street, on Tuesday, May 4th from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm. Her funeral service will start at 12:00 pm, followed by interment in Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill.
