Clive A. Forrest Jr.'s Obituary
Clive Alfred Forrest, Jr., fondly known as "Marlon" or "Dude," was born on April 20, 1977, to Clive A. Forrest, Sr. and Pat C. Holmes Forrest in Kingston, Jamaica. He entered into eternal rest on June 6, 2018. Marlon spent his formative childhood years in Jamaica and migrated to the United States in 1984. Marlon spent his early childhood living with his family in Brooklyn, New York and Miami, Florida. He moved to Willingboro, New Jersey in 1991. Always the jokester, Marlon could talk himself out of any situation with his smile and charm; he was a positive guy, rarely seeing the glass half empty. He graduated from Burlington County Institute of Technology, Westampton, N.J. in 1996, where he specialized in printing and graphic design. Marlon enjoyed all sports, but swimming was his passion. He was also an automobile fanatic. Marlon loved tinkering with cars and personifying his vehicles. He was an appreciated employee at Whittle & Mutch Inc. for seventeen years. While working at Whittle & Mutch Inc., Marlon earned his certification in heating and air conditioning from Lincoln Institute of Technology.
Nothing meant more to Marlon than family. There was never a need he would not help solve or a pain his compassion could not help to diminish. Above all else, Marlon loved his sisters fiercely. He would drop anything to be there for Lauren, Nicole, and Anika. Be it solely carrying a mattress up five flights of stairs in a new apartment or driving through impenetrable fog and rain without navigational support at the beginning of a school year - he was always just a phone call away.
As a faithful servant of Christ, Marlon unwaveringly placed his trust in God. His Sunday school and young adult years in New Jersey were under the ministry of the First United Pentecostal Church in Edgewater Park, N.J. Later in his life Marlon fellowshipped at Word Alive Christian Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Wilson, where he was an armor-bearer and anchor for his church family. Marlon became ill during the fall of 2011. During his illness, he learned to lean on God. Rather than questioning God’s goodness, Marlon praised God in the midst of his trial. He ran his earthly race with patience and rather than worrying about his own condition, he would focus on the welfare of those around him.
It was impossible to engage with Marlon without laughing until your belly hurt and smiling with glee. We will miss the joy he brought into our lives. Marlon’s mother Patricia Brenner, step-father Lawrence Brenner, sister Lauren Giordano, sister Nicole Brenner, father Clive Forrest, Sr., step-mother Patricia Forrest, sister Anika Forrest, host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and precious friends will always cherish the memories he gave us.
