Clovis J Loreaux Jr's Obituary
Clovis James Loreaux Jr., 89, of Southampton, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on January 4, 2025. Born on May 25, 1935, to Clovis James Sr. and Mary Jane Loreaux (née Siddall), Clovis was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, great grandfather, and cherished friend to many.
He shared 69 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Eugenie Loreaux (née Hathaway). Together, they built a life filled with love and joy, raising their three children: Scott Loreaux (Maureen Dudics), Eugenie L. Galvin (Tim), and Jeffrey Loreaux (Annie). Clovis was the adored grandfather of Leah Loreaux, Thomas Loreaux, Timothy Galvin, John Galvin, Chris Galvin, Andrew Loreaux, Dan Loreaux, Greg Loreaux, Elizabeth Howard and 16 great grandchildren.
Clovis is survived by his brother, Robert “Bob” Loreaux, and was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Jane Holland and Phyllis McCoglan. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, including many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by his kind and generous spirit.
In his senior year at Palmyra High School, Clovis worked for Smith, Kline & French pharmaceutical company. Clovis met the love of his life, Jean, while commuting to this job by bus. Upon graduation in 1953, Clovis and 11 other classmates joined the US Navy. He proudly served his country during the Korean War. While serving in Rhode Island, Clovis and Jean continued their long distance courtship. Clovis received orders to ship out to Guantanamo Bay Cuba in 5 weeks. Clovis proposed to Jean while returning from a Phillies game at old Connie Mack Stadium.
Following his service, Clovis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from La Salle University while employed at Boeing. He launched a very successful career at Tab Products where he held many high positions including National Sales Manager
Clovis was known for his unwavering positivity and joy, making him the kind of friend everyone cherished.
A dedicated member of his community, Clovis delighted in his years volunteering as the master of ceremonies for the St. Charles Borromeo Church Carnival. His booming voice and infectious enthusiasm brought joy to countless attendees. He served on the Harvey Cedars Land Use Board and was honored to dedicate the new Town Hall and Sunset Community Park.
A memorial Mass celebrating Clovis’s life will be held at Holy Eucharist Roman Catholic Church, 520 Medford Lakes Road Tabernacle NJ, on January 18, 2025. Visitation at 10:00 AM, followed by mass at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clovis’s memory may be made to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Clovis’s warmth, humor, and generosity will be remembered always by those who were fortunate to know him.
