Daniel J Mungiole's Obituary
Daniel J. Mungiole, 58, of Marlton, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on February 2, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
Born on May 3, 1966, in Vineland, NJ, Daniel was the beloved son of Edward Mungiole and Anna (née Cocozza). He was predeceased by his first wife, the late Teresa Mungiole, and is survived by his devoted wife, Dawn Carruolo.
A man of unwavering dedication, Daniel was a hardworking provider, beginning his first job at just 12 years old and continuing to work tirelessly until just a few months ago, when his illness made it impossible. He dedicated many years to his career as an over-the-road trucker, always going above and beyond what was expected.
Beyond his work, Daniel had a deep love for baseball, especially the Philadelphia Phillies, which he enjoyed watching with his grandchildren. He took great pride in watching his sons play baseball growing up, cherishing every game. He found joy in home-cooked meals, especially his own homemade meatballs and Dawn’s famous carrot cake. His family and grandchildren meant everything to him, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Daniel had a generous heart and a great sense of humor, always finding ways to make people laugh. He had a passion for photography, capturing life’s special moments through his lens. He loved wearing Hawaiian shirts, embracing their fun and relaxed style. His love for animals was evident in the special bond he shared with his beloved cats, Jack and Griff.
He also enjoyed tropical drinks on cruises, as well as his beloved yearly hunting trip to the North of Maine. He was a proud volunteer fire fighter for Malaga fire department, and at one point owned his own fire truck.
Daniel fought a courageous battle with melanoma, showing strength and resilience through it all. In his memory, his family encourages everyone to take care of their health and get their skin checked. A special thank you to the incredible staff at Penn Medicine for their compassionate care and support during his journey.
Daniel is survived by his loving children, Anthony Mungiole (Gia), Michael Mungiole, and Meghan McGee; his cherished grandchildren, Anthony Jr., Francesca, McKenna, and Logan; and his devoted brothers, Edward Mungiole (Denise) and Mark Mungiole (Stephanie). He will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend services at Givnish Funeral Home, 398 East Main Street, Marlton, NJ. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Joan of Arc Church in Marlton. Daniel will be entombed at Calvary Mausoleum in Cherry Hill.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daniel’s honor to the Tara Miller Melanoma Foundation (www.taramillerfoundation.org).
