David W. Higgs' Obituary
David W. Higgs passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020. Born in East St. Louis, IL to David A. and Dolores Higgs, Dave was 66 years old. Son of a Marine Corps Master Sergeant, Dave lived in Illinois, California, and Japan, before settling in Willingboro, New Jersey in 1969. Dave graduated from Willingboro High School in 1972.
Beloved husband of 40 years to Noreen Higgs (nee Tumas). Loving father of Mary (Patrick) Tadley, Thomas (Colleen) Higgs, and Patrick Higgs. Adored PopPop of Jack, Libby, Delaney, Madelyn, and Will. Brother of the late Linda (David) Psilas. Son-in-law of Joseph J. Tumas and the late Mary Tumas. Dave leaves behind many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews and his best friends of many years Daryl Hatfield and David Butler.
Much of Dave’s career was spent in the label industry at Patton and Sancoa International before spending his pre-retirement years at the Evergreens Retirement Community in Moorestown.
An avid sports fan, Dave could often be found watching football games and debating fantasy football draft choices with his sons and friends. A long time member of the Moorestown Field Club, golf was his true passion. Dave never missed an early tee time with his regular group.
Dave’s love of his family was evident to all. Some of his most cherished memories were summers spent on Lake Wallenpaupack and, more recently, weeks at the Jersey shore with his grandkids. He loved spending time at Pomona Swim Club, giving endless piggyback rides to his grandchildren, or working to make sure he had the nicest lawn on his block.
