Dennis W. Corr, 77, of Palmyra, NJ, passed away on March 13, 2023. Dear husband to the late Mildred Corr and Kathleen Corr. Beloved father to Christine Bowyer (Walter), Kimberly Welenc (Robert Jr.) and Stephanie Gartanutti (John) and the late Cathleen Robinson. Grandfather to 12 and great grandfather to 5. Son of the late William and Jeanne Corr. He is survived by his siblings Patricia Corr and Michael Corr. He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dennis was a proud Union Iron Worker for Philadelphia Local 401 where he retired after 40 years. He also owned the Crusader Inn on Frankford Ave. for many years, where “Thank You for Being a Friend” could be heard every evening at closing.
A hall of fame player, Dennis played football for Father Judge High School and Tulsa University. After college he coached for Father Judge High School. He then played for and the Penndel Pros until he was 40 years old. Whether it was football, softball, shuffleboard, darts or hoops at the school yard, Dennis loved competitive play, but what he loved most were the long lasting friendships he formed through those activities.
Most of all, Dennis loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He cherished special relationships with his nieces and nephews. No one will ever measure up to his hugs, his smiles, birthday songs, Donald Duck voices, arm wrestling expertise or dancing biceps.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Monday, March 20th at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North from 8:30am to 10:30am. Dennis’s Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church in Riverton, NJ. Burial to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson.
