Diana C. Haber, 83, a resident of Cinnaminson since 1966, passed away after a brief illness on February 22, 2026, with her family by her side. Born on October 8, 1942, in Norwalk, CT, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Lengyel.
Diana was the devoted wife of Joseph Haber until his passing in 2012. She was a loving mother to Kathleen Servello (Michael) and Douglas Haber; cherished grandmother to Peyton, Abigail, and Douglas Jr.; dear sister to Joseph Lengyel; former sister-in-law to Penny Lengyel; and aunt to Ryan and Scott. She will be deeply missed by many other friends and relatives.
From a young age, Diana was a natural caretaker, helping to care for her family while her parents worked. Although she lacked a formal college education, she had been accepted to the University of Connecticut and had planned to become a teacher. Life took a different path when she accepted a summer bookkeeping position at Sears in Norwalk, where she met her future husband. Through determination and hard work, she built a successful career, eventually becoming a district manager for a maternity clothing company. Her strong work ethic was one of her proudest accomplishments and a value she proudly passed down to her children. Having experienced a difficult childhood, Diana was determined to work hard and create an easier, more secure life for her children and grandchildren.
Education and children always held a special place in her heart. She was actively involved in her children’s school activities, serving as a devoted room mom and PTA member. She worked as a teacher’s assistant at Memorial School, tutored students in math, worked at the student store in the high school, and later served as a lunch aide at New Albany School. Supporting and encouraging young people brought her great joy.
Diana had a deep love for animals, especially cats. She often rescued stray cats and brought them to shelters to be spayed, neutered, and microchipped. She was passionate about her political views and never hesitated to stand up for what she believed in. A fabulous decorator, she took great pride in her home and especially enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to her beautiful yard and garden.
She was a wonderful cook whose signature dishes included spaghetti with gravy, pot roast, baked beans, her famous potato salad, and her prolific annual Christmas cookies — a cherished tradition and talent that her daughter now proudly continues. Diana also enjoyed sewing, crafting, gardening, and shopping — simple pleasures that brought her great joy.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Tuesday March 24th from 11 to 12:00pm with her memorial service beginning at 12:00pm. Urn burial to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Diana’s name may be made to the Animal Welfare Association (www.awanj.org) or to Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org), or to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org).
