Diane A Giletto's Obituary
Diane A. Giletto, 90, of Marlton, NJ, passed away peacefully on the morning of November 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Camden, NJ, she was the cherished daughter of Anthony and Eros Panarello.
Diane was the devoted wife of the late John E. Giletto, and a beloved mother to six children: James Giletto, Anthony Giletto, Christina Giletto Bryson (Mark), Diane Giletto Myles, Janet Giletto McClernan, and John Giletto (Mitzi). She was a proud grandmother of 14 and great-grandmother of 7, with one more on the way.
Raised in Camden, Diane attended Bonsall Grammar School in Camden and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School, where she shone as the lead in her senior play, as a cheerleader, and the homecoming queen. After a four-year courtship, she married the love of her life, John, on November 20,1955 at Mount Carmel church in Camden. Together, they raised six wonderful children and shared a love of dancing, traveling, and making memories, particularly on trips to Las Vegas and Hawaii, and occasional weekends at the Mount Airy lodge in Pocono PA.
John served as a police officer in Camden and in the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office where he retired after 26 years in 1986. Diane also retired at the same time from S&S Contract Carpets in Magnolia as an office secretary.
Diane was loved for her culinary talent, especially her Italian cooking, which brought her family together. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, visiting casinos in Atlantic City, and watching game shows. Her favorites were The Price is Right, Jeopardy*, and Wheel of Fortune. She also loved going to Disney World and Ocean City NJ with her family. Above all, Diane had a remarkable ability to see the good in everyone, and always put others before herself. Her greatest joy was her family, and she will always be remembered for her strength, and the deep love she had for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Diane was the heart of her family and is missed beyond measure.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday at Givnish of Marlton, 398 E. Main Street, from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Diane’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
