Dolores Riley's Obituary
Dolores Riley, a cherished resident of Palmyra, passed away, on Friday March 15th, 2024 with family by her side. She was 79 years old.
Born on June 21st, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA, Dolores was the beloved child of Corneilius and Regina
McFeeley.
Dolores was married to the love of her life for over 63 years. Their beautiful life together created 4 children. Dolores’s passion for children started with her own and was the theme of her life. Throughout her life, she had many jobs, but all of her most important jobs revolved around children. In the early years, Dolores taught CCD as well as serving on the Palmyra Board of Education in the 1980’s. She ran a successful home day care that started with watching her grandchildren for many years, but one of the things Dolores was most proud of in her career was creating her own daycare from the ground up. Gramma’s School House in Cinnaminson, NJ, was where Dolores was the devoted director of the business from 2000-2018. She continued after that back to a small home daycare with her daughter Lorrie until this day.
She will leave a legacy of having touched so many lives with kindness and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Outside of her work life, Dolores was a pillar of love and support to her family. As the devoted wife to Joseph Riley, they shared a bond together that transcended time. Her legacy lives on through her children: Dolores O’Connor (Michael; predeceased), Theresa O’Reilly (Neal) (Steven; predeceased), Joseph Riley (Tammy), and Tim Riley.
Her legacy extends beyond her immediate family, as she was also a beloved grandmother to Katelyn (Chuck), Sean (Annie), Katherine (Michael), Andrew (Dana), Rebecca, Christie, Darby, and Abby. In addition, she experienced the joy of being a great-grandmother to Brooke, Nora, and Riley, embracing the happiness of yet another generation. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
As we mourn the loss of Dolores, let us also celebrate the life she lived and the love she shared. May her memory continue to inspire and uplift us all.
