Dominick Joseph Saulle's Obituary
Dominick Joseph Saulle, 91, longtime resident of Willingboro, NJ passed away surrounded by his family on July 5, 2020.
The lifelong Mets and Giants fan grew up in Brooklyn, NY as the son of Italian immigrant parents. Always a hard worker, he shined shoes, collected newspaper and bottles, and delivered coal and ice to help support his siblings. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and spent 42 years working at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard.
Dominick Saulle was so much more than his jobs. He and his wife, the late Joaquina (Medina) Saulle, raised six children in Brooklyn and Willingboro. He coached football and baseball. He loved Tony Bennett’s music. He read three newspapers a day. He greeted people with the beloved New Jersey salutation, “How you doing?” He also made sure his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren appreciated local sites such as Coney Island, the Statue of Liberty, Great Adventure, historic Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Joaquina; his sisters Jeannie and Vera; his daughter Josephine Fasano (Richie) and son Salvatore Ortiz. He is survived by his cherished children, Victoria Solano, Cynthia Hinz (late Craig), Philip Saulle, and Dominick Saulle (Josephine). He was a proud grandfather of Lorraine Selvaggio (John), Melissa Maxwell; Dominick, Anthony, and Christy Saulle; Michelle Hinz, Edmund Wolfe (Amy); Kimberly Keller (Hal), Michael Helminski; Jason Ortiz (Jennifer), Joaquina Lucas (Pete). Dominick was also a great grandfather to Jaden, Jasmyn, Rylee, Jace; Dominick IV; Taylor, Justin; Gabreilla, Matthew; Marissa, Merredith, Salvatore; Megan, Nate, Jake; Elisa, Robby; Natalie, Brianna, and Everleigh.
A viewing for Dominick J. Saulle will be held on Monday, July 13th, at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Rt. 130 N., Cinnaminson, NJ 08077 from 9:30 – 11:30 am. Following the visitation a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. An interment will take place for Dominick J. Saulle at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery following the conclusion of the funeral service. Social distancing and gathering restrictions will be in effect, all visitors will be required to wear facial coverings.
