Donald Francis Buchanan 1946-2021
Don passed away on October 6, 2021 after a three week battle with COVID-19 at the age of 75.
He is survived by his son, Scott, daughters, April (Buchanan Cain) and Molly (Hendriksen), their spouses, his Aunt Alberta Kramer, along with cousins, nieces, nephews and four grandchildren. Don is predeceased by his parents, Claire Buchanan (Saring) (2011) and Harry Buchanan (2001) and his twin brother Ronald J Buchanan (2021).
A veteran of the US Navy, he spent his time aboard the USS Randolph in the North Atlantic during Vietnam, of which he was very proud. Don was fond of his grandfather, Joe Saring, who spent 41 years in the US Navy. Don spent many summers at his parents’ home in Sea Isle City, NJ, boating and fishing.
Don enjoyed his time kayaking with friends, taking his dog to the park and supporting Veterans by volunteering for Heroes on the Water, NJ Chapter.
Don was very active speaking to and sponsoring those with substance abuse issues.
Services will be graveside at the BG William C Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd., Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Graveside services 2:30 PM Monday, October 18, 2021. Family and Friends welcome.
