Doris was the most unselfish, kind, caring, generous person anyone could ever know. She drove a school bus for the Mt. Laurel School District for 26 years, which she thoroughly enjoyed. There she started the tradition of making personalized, hand made ornaments for the Christmas tree for each driver and member of the transportation department.
She was a founding member of the Greentree Recreation Association athletic program in Mt. Laurel where she formed and coached the first girls softball team. She drove her traveling team to each ballgame in her station wagon.
There wasn’t a birthday, anniversary or special occasion that Doris didn’t go out of her way to remember you. Whether it was baking you a cake or making rice pudding, she was there with her electric personality and smile. She left her mark of goodness on every person’s heart that knew her and she will be dearly missed.
We would like to especially thank Wiley Christian Nursing Home for the outstanding care, overwhelming kindness, compassion and friendship everyone there has shown over the years to Mom and our family and friends. You are all very special people and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Doris’ life celebration and visitation at Inglesby/Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 E. Main St., on Wednesday evening 6 – 8 pm and Thursday morning 10 – 11 am.
