Dot was one of the original members of our Thursday Quilter's. What fun this group had! The laughter was continuous. The banter between her and Brenda Coleman was classic and hilarious. They are both gone now....hopefully laughing it up together. Dot was a beautiful quilter and her work will be cherished by many. My sincerest sympathies to her family and friends.
Aunt Dot will always hold an important place in our heart. She was a strong loving women that always handled difficult experience with dignity and grace. Going to visit was always a fun time with wonderful memories. We treasure the family times, her stories, traditions, along with her many talents and artistry inspirations, Aunt Dot will always be in our hears.
Just look at what she left behind, Drew, Janet, Gary and your families. May your memories keep your Mother and Grandmother close.

Being so close together at an extended Italian family, my brother and I lived most of our growing years steeped in the traditions and heartfelt love that all our relatives had for one another.. My aunts, uncles and cousins were an important part of my life. I can remember some of our trips to north Jersey to see Uncle Anthony, Aunt Dorothy and my cousins Gary, Janet and Drew. This was an adventure for us and we were always welcomed by a clan of loving and caring family members joining us for our visit. Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Anthony had cooked a delicious feast for all of us. But what I loved most was his pool table that we were allowed to play at with our cousins while we were there. The relatives were all so much fun and we all had such a good time we never wanted to depart that day. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it wasn’t for the love and affection that was showered on us children by our elders. They molded our character and directed our lives for the better. Their influence was a pillar of honor, strength and love.
I just finished a book about my mother called “Carolyn My Only Daughter” out on Amazon.com which tells about her life growing up in the first half of the 20th century and the struggles her family faced especially when they were just beginning to establish themselves as first generation Italian Americans. It relates the good times and the bad; the great depression and the outcome from its effect on personal and family lives. It tells how my mother coped with life’s challenges. How she succeeded to find a job after high school to help support the family when few woman worked outside the home. But the best part of my story was how she came to know and love Frank Ciapetta; how the two families became linked together because of their relationship. This is how I came to know all the aunts and uncles and cousins from the Ciapetta family in my lifetime. Those times were treasured moments and memories that live with me even now and I can envision many of the happenings we had together.
