Dorothy K. Horn's Obituary
Dorothy Lela (Kurtz) Drake Horn, aged 93, traveled to heaven on June 5, 2018 to be with her beloved parents Norman W. and Margaret (Berg) Kurtz, her husbands Charles Robert Drake, John Patrick Horn and her first born son, Charles Robert Drake Jr.
She is survived by her children Nancy D. Drake (Brent Feulner), Megan E. Drake and James Kurtz Drake. She is also survived by her brother William M. Kurtz.
Dottie enjoyed life to the fullest and was social by nature. She worked as a secretary in New York City during World War II and volunteered at the USO. Peacetime brought marriage and children and a new lifestyle of the 1950s.
Mom was at her best with the motherhood role when ever her children were ill and needed extra-special attention. She fought ferociously for her youngest, Jim, who suffered brain damage at birth. She was his constant advocate.
After the death of her son Bob in December, 2015 Mom slowly declined in health. She eventually succumbed to renal failure. With a strong spirit, Mom held on until her daughters arrived from Santa Fe, NM before she died.
May eternal life be her's in the love of her Lord, Jesus Christ.
In lieu of flowers, please perform an act of random kindness in Mom's memory.
