Hi....my friends and I arrived into Mario's Pizza on the boardwalk in 1989- we all got summer jobs, thanks to Doug! Our friend worked in Paul's Idaho Potatoes-we are all from Ireland, so we assumed we knew all about potatoes! No- you guys taught us!!

I knew Doug as a very young boy, along with his sister, Kim. I was a dear friend of his mom, Sandra. Sandra had Paul's potatoes and Kim's Corner in Wildwood. I worked with Sandra at Eaton Corporation in 1978 and 1979. So sorry for your loss. Loved the Kirk Family.
would like to tell a story about doug many of you may not know.doug had a business on oak ave in wildwood and was my next door neighbor.we got to know each other well enough that my kids called dougie tater tot man,anyway one day dougie told me he wanted to learn how to surf.since having three children in a short period of time,along with running multiple businesses i put my surfboard away but dusting it off and getting back out seemed like a good idea,we ended up buying two longboards and surfing quite regulary.i always think of dougie as my surfing partner for that period of my life.I always prayed for dougie when I heard he was sick.God bless dougie see you in the tube.dan karvounis
I will never forget I met Doug and the boys on Wildwood's boardwalk with Patrick. While they were in a house of mirrors, a family was in line and the father had sandals on and couldn't go with his son because he needed sneakers. Doug took his off and went over to the dad and offered his. This is the kind of person he was. Our condolences to his sons and family. He will be sorely missed.
